I wasn’t that thrilled when I read this week’s TWD recipe choice, but surprisingly, I loved it when it came out of the oven. The cardamom and orange zest beautifully complemented the subtle tartness of the plum. It was really yummy… I’m just sad that there are no more slices left! This has got to be a lucky cake, because the second egg I broke open had two yolks inside. 🙂
So, as chosen by Michelle of Bake-en, here is the Dimply Plum Cake…

I agree that the cardamom and orange zest were delicate and lovely together – the cake tasted better than i imagined. Your photos are beautiful!

Your cake looks fabulous and it actually reminds me of that game, Connect Four. I guess it’s the way the plums are swallowed into the cake. Anyway, I enjoyed this one, too!

Love that first photo! I remember thinking it was so cool when mom cracked an egg and got a double yolk. I never have…I wonder if you have to be someone special to get one of those! 😀
