So, I strayed a little from this week’s TWD recipe.
It was to be Dorie’s Blueberry Pie. However, I don’t really like blueberries and my mom had been talking about picking blackberries for the last month!! This week’s recipe was extra-special to me, though. Not only was it my first double-crust pie, but I got to pick blackberries with Amy!! We had an awesome morning followed by a great lunch at my favorite local catfish joint. See??
We had SO much fun! Now… on to the beautiful & delicious pie!! I can’t wait to make this again… especially with Dorie’s Good-For-Everything pie crust!! It’s amazing!!
Thank you, Amy of South in Your Mouth, for this week’s choice! It was such a hit!

Oh, what lovely blackberries! And what a yummy-looking pie you made with them. Can I come visit? (Oh, wait, I live a long way away and gas costs way too much. Oh well…)

Oh wow! Your pie really does look amazing!! That crust looks so flaky and delicious!! Obviously, your berries didn’t run as much as mine did..maybe I used too many (I certainly did pile them on there pretty high!). Love the pickin’ pictures - we’re so cute!

Thanks for the welcome! Your pie looks delicious. I thought about using fresh black raspberries that I picked but unfortunately the berries didn’t make it to the pie

How fun to pick berries with a buddy. Love the mud boots, btw. The pie looks so yummy. I’ve been itching to get my hands on some blackberries so I can make clafouti. I may have to buckle and buy some frozen ones. How about those peaches? They look heavenly. I’d love your pasta salad, too. Wish I could have a potluck with you.

Wow. Just…wow. I remember picking (and eating) blackberries by the bucket as a kid.
I’ll trade you a slice of my blueberry for your blackberry?

What a wonderful way to use fresh berries. I would love to use them for my pies, but I’m sure they would be gone before the pie would be made… I’m so addicted to berries!!

Oh wow- that pie looks delicious!! So where did you go to pick berries? I’m a Dallas girl, too- didn’t know there were any berry picking places (orchards? fields? whatever) nearby.
